In 2012 I was asked to join HWKN's team for their PS1 proposal. One intense, but exhilarating spring later, Wendy was installed in the PS1 courtyard - a spiky, nylon-fabric treated character that throughout the summer activated the site through wind, rain, music, shade and a striking presence. Not only did Wendy neutralize airborne pollutants with her Titania nano-particle membrane, through her strong visual identity she played out a powerful statement of the city’s challenges with air pollution.
